Stuff!
Sometimes cool stuff just resists being labeled. Whatever it is, if we are interested in it, we post about it! Hope you enjoy whatever we're talking about as much as we do.
Our protagonist is "Flat" - both in name and in shape. He lives in a peaceful, two dimensional world (or "kingdom" if you will). One day, a sly fox-girl steals one of the magical crystals that keeps the kingdom peaceful and flat, and it's up to Flat to scour the land to recover the crystal and prevent the others from being stolen as well.
Enter the Gungeon may be the most hotly anticipated game in WOTS headquarters since... ever. We've seen Gungeon at four cons, played co-op, met Dave Crooks, seen the giant bullet costume that Sony made, and discussed it internally ad nauseum. It's finally here, guys! Enter the Gungeon is ready for prime time! Let's not waste more words introducing it, it's time to kick off the Enter the Gungeon review!
In our third and final installment of Logitech's G-series roundup for 2016, we've got two new keyboards to discuss. Since they're quite similar, I'm going to group them together in one review. The two 'boards I've picked to review are the Orion Red and Orion Spectrum - both are high-end backlit mechanical keyboards. If you're torn between the G610 and the G810, read on! We'll compare and contrast the two in my G610 Orion Red vs G810 Orion Spectrum review.
Stikbold stood out from the crowd at SxSW Gaming 2016 enough to earn our "Best Party Mayhem/Relationship Ender" award for the conference. After a great indroduction at the con, we were fortunate to have some time to check out the game in more depth. The game is full of surprises of the best kind and we'll break it all down below.
While at SxSW last month, EBongo and I stopped and spent some time going over the Logitech G-series lineup for 2016. Since the con floor really isn't the best place to get a good impression of an input device, I asked Logitech if they'd be willing to ship me a G502 Proteus Spectrum that I could use for review. I've spent a week with it, and now I'm ready to pass my verdict! Is the G502 Proteus Spectrum worthy of your monster gaming rig? Let's find out in my G502 Proteus Spectrum review!
Epistory: Typing Chronicles has made its way through Steam Early Access, and is now available in a full release! About a month ago, I got the chance to take the Early Access version of the game and I wrote up a preview. At that point, only the first half of the game was available. Now that the whole thing is ready, let's circle back and see how well Epistory: Typing Chronicles holds up in my review!
While EBongo and I were downtown for SxSW Gaming, we took some time to take in the "Surviving Indie: A Real Look Behind Indie Game Dev" panel hosted by Richard James Cook. It was an interesting look at the less glamorous side of indie development, both in the early days of the medium and today. I've collected my notes and thoughts from the panel - it was truly an interesting experience! If you missed it, read on to catch up!
Our second year of covering SxSW's Gaming Expo is complete! Like all the cons we cover, it was a whirlwind ride of playing game demos, meeting cool people, and generally soaking in gaming culture. Without further ado, let's discuss our favorite games of the con, and award our highly coveted "Best in Show" and "Editor's Choice" awards!
As you know, one of WOTS' major events every year is the SxSW Gaming Expo, a three day event that brings together big names from the gaming, anime, and board game vendors under one (very crowded) roof. This time around, EBongo and I set our sights on Logitech, who brought a massive booth to the show in order to demo their gaming-oriented G series keyboards, mice, and headsets.
I just figured out a Clash Royale Trick that is deviously simple, but can actually make a huge difference in the rewards you get from opening chests. Early on, a lot of new players don't understand the way Clash RoyaleChest Loot works, and I must confess that even I made mistake at one point of thinking you could save Chests until a later Arena level before opening them, missing the clear Arena label placed on each one. Luckily, our buddy agent86ix created a full guide on chests that breaks down all of the types and gives some tips and strategies on how to get the most out of them. But I digress...
